A great day out was had on the Applecross peninsula with Jason, Mark and Jack from Carlisle. We took an out and back trail along an old coffin route that drops to the bay at Applecross village.
It was a fine Scottish outing, apart from the weather – they had insisted on bringing their own from the lake district and it didn’t take long to get their nice, shiny bikes all muddy as they should be. The riding was super with the undulous, rocky singletrack staying grippy despite the wet and the boys enjoyed the exposed descent to the café.
We all agreed that the trail rode well both ways, although the full Scottish breakfast and hairy highland coos had slowed some of our team down on the outward leg!
Thank you for an awesome day out, gents, and now my bike is nice and shiny too, after the trailside pressure wash, powered by the cigarette lighter in the boys’ van…….
