A cosy emergency shelter.

The last 2 days Nathan, Ian, Kirsty, Duncan and Iain have been with USMC covering a variety of winter skills in the Cairngorms. Monday saw us walking up from Glen Feshie to Carn Ban Mor area where it turned pretty wintry and gave the opportunity to start on some winter navigation and movement. Across the group there is a variety of experience but everyone seemed to have a great day.

Tuesday we were in the Northern Cairngorms where we were practising self arrest, building emergency shelters and more navigating in poor visibility. Absolutely loads of snow around with some scary looking cornices to be seen. Avalanche avoidance was on our minds with route choice being a big part of the day for some. Well done everyone on a fun couple of days!
