Ready Steady Bike at Applecross – 14th of November

For the third week in a row I was treated to great weather and views on my drive over to Applecross. This week the pupils set up their own ‘slow skills courses’ to reinforce some of the things they have done over the last couple of weeks. As usual all of the pupils were keen and showed great improvement. So far the pupils have covered:

The Bike ‘M-check’ before starting.

The Rider Check.

Freewheeling and the attack position.

Cornering.

Mounting and dismounting the bike safely.

The effects of braking with front, rear and both brakes.

Slow skills.

I’ve had a great time volunteering over in Applecross and it is a pleasure to come and bike with Mrs Gillies and her pupils.
