climbing, scrambling and abseiling…

Chris about to reach the belay with Jim.

After a great day on the hill yesterday we decided to stay low and try out some technical rope skills.  Myself, Chris and Rob headed out of Shieldaig to Ardheshlaig where the guys did really well on their first ever multi-pitch rock climb.  The sunshine and drying rock was a pleasant surprise along with the other friendly climbers at the crag.

After lunch Chris and Rob wanted to practice their scrambling skills so they took turns at taking one another up the rock tiers on the crag behind Shieldaig Primary School.  To round off a great weekend Chris and Rob built their own multi-point anchor before abseiling off of it.

All just in time before the next squall got us!  Nice one Lads – Well Done!  Also thanks again to Richard and Claire at Kinloch and of course Scotland Outdoors for running this competition.
