Following your nose.

As promised a bit more information about the mountaineering group from Cambridge Uni. On Sunday we headed round the back of Liathach to Coire Dubh Mor. Massive amounts of snow has disappeared since Monday and we could actually walk, opposed to swim through waist deep powder. This had been replaced with a thick cloak of mist that was concealing the crag. I followed my nose and before we knew it we were standing at the base of our climb (this is a technical skill and there is no luck involved!). From then on Adam, Ursula, Tom and Valeria swapped leads building snow belays when needed. From the top of ‘Way Up’ (the route) there is a gully leading down the other side which allowed us to descend using  the awesome technique of bum sliding  for about 500 meters to where we picked up the path back down to the car.
