The weather did not look that great for our second rock climbing session at Shieldaig. I thought about cancelling it and John also had second thoughts whilst driving past Loch Maree. Good job that we didn’t as the 6 youngsters who turned up were keen to learn, or improve their rock climbing skills. Two of the girls in the group had only ever climbed indoors before and really enjoyed the challenge of real, steep rock on ‘Archie Gemmell’. So steep in fact they were unable to untie their rope afterwards! Abseiling down ‘The Wall’ also proved popular with a couple of the boys making three or four descents of this now infamous piece of rock.
